The rod holder base that started it all, the straight base is a basic upright base that cradles a Down East "Salty" holder, or Fat A.Z. Tube. These holders have the ability to tip the rod one handed on the fly. Great for a quick change of lure depth or to have a rod tip dodge objects in the water. The base plates fit most major brands of track, providing the track will accept 3" wide by 1/4" thick insert profile. Also the base plates have the standard bolt pattern for the S-17 Down East should you wish to bolt direct. Can be ordered with out any holder (Base only), this option is great for the customers who already have Down East "Salty" holders. Can also be ordered with a Down East "Salty", or with a Fat A.Z. Tube.
