Our most popular rod holder base pictured with the Down East holder. The style is great for adding the extra reach over the side of your gunnel to get your "down rods" more vertical, or to simplify have less of the butt grip of your rod inside the boat. Like all of our rod holders these bases allow for extremely fast, one handed tipping of the rods. This is great for fast lure depth changes, easier effort in checking and setting lines, or to simply move the rod tip to dodge obstacles. Once the angler becomes accustomed to interactively trolling with our style of bases they will become more efficient on the water, which leads to catching more fish. The base plates fit most major brands of track, providing the track will accept 3" wide by 1/4" thick insert profile. Can be ordered with out any holder (Base only), this option is great for the customers who already have Down East "Salty" holders. Can also be ordered with a Down East "Salty", or with a Fat A.Z. Tube.
